The hidden, or secret, techniques open themselves up to the higher Master levels, which are described as Okuden. The depth of these levels of understanding is layered according to the Omote (obvious interpretation) for the beginner and the Chuden Techniques (middle level) for the more advanced. At its hub is the Karate Kata, which contains all of the techniques mentioned above and which is invaluable for daily training once the various levels of the Bunkai (application) have been understood. In this book we have tried to analyze Tuite and Kyusho Techniques from a modern anatomical point of view and to this aim have put together a new type of graphic illustration. Its content includes Basic Techniques, Tuite (Lever) Techniques, Chin Na-Techniques (Hold and Control), Nage Waza (Throws), Shime Waza (Strangling Techniques) and Kyusho (weak points) Techniques. In reading the book it becomes easy to see Karate's relationship to other Asian Martial Arts systems. Some of the other forms of kicks are Side Kick (Yoko Geri), Middle Level Roundhouse Kick (Chudan Mawashi Geri), High Roundhouse Kick (Jodan Mawashi Geri), Back Kick (Ushiro Geri), and Stomping Knee Joint Kick (Kasetu Kick).This book is aimed at both the experienced Karate student and those just starting up in finding their way through the theoretical and historical background of Karate and in the practice of the so-called "secret techniques". The tool is helpful in developing powerful kicks. The important forms of kicks are front (Mae Geri), groin (Kin Geri), and knee kick (Hiza Geri). Kicks are also important, along with strikes and blocks. The 2 forms of palm heel strikes are the Shotei Uchi and Jodan Shotei Uchi. The word, ‘kihon’ is used to denote the basic techniques or fundamentals of karate. It holds a special spot in Karate, however, since Karate is seen as a very linear, almost choppy style. You’ll see it used in many styles of martial arts. This form of martial art is also aimed at developing the attitude, or more appropriately for spiritual development. The Straight Punch: Choku Zuki The basic straight punch is one of the most used martial arts moves. Karate has however, more depth to it than merely practicing a few techniques (basic and advanced). Basically a striking art, karate involves kicking, punching, elbow strikes, and knee strikes.
